1500°C Box Furnaces

Blue M 1500°C heavy-duty box furnaces are designed for use where close temperature uniformity, rapid response rate, dense load capability, and process repeatability are essential. These furnaces have insulating vestibules and are equipped with directly hinged, insulated plug doors. The insulating door plug serves as a convenient loading platform in the open position (except for model 51863 which has a side-hinged door). An internal vent located in the top center of the vestibule aids in dissipating the initial heat surge that occurs when the door is opened. The 1500°C box furnace is supplied with a Type “R” thermocouple.

Optimum temperature uniformity is achieved using silicon carbide, heating elements. They are horizontally positioned above and below the heating chamber. The heating chamber is constructed of high-temperature graded insulation, providing excellent thermal efficiency. A fitted silicon-carbide hearthplate is standard equipment.

Options

• Blue M built-in temperature control console options provide additional features and versatility for your control system
• Programmable controller (Option P) offers the convenient flexibility of ramping to multiple setpoint temperatures and holding for variable time periods at those temperatures. The temperature controller provides 16 programmable segments consisting of ramps or dwells
• Multiple Programs (Option P4) offers the convenient flexibility of ramping to multiple setpoint temperatures and holding for variable time periods at those temperatures. The controller provides up to four 16 programmable segments or one 64-segment program.
• Excess temperature protection (Option B) provides positive protection of both furnace and load in event of failure in the primary control circuit. Completely redundant circuit includes separate instrument with manual reset pushbutton, magnetic contactor and independent thermocouple.
• Digital communication kits allow modification and interrogation of all instrument control and configuration parameters from a remote computer using Blue M provided SPECVIEW® software. Kits are available to interface with RS232 or RS422/485 communication ports.
• Atmosphere retorts are available for all Blue M 1500°C box furnaces when controlled atmosphere processing is required. (Maximum temperature limited to 1050°C or 1200°C when using retort.)
